// Cloud Engineer Pathway
Welcome to the Cloud Engineer pathway. This is your starting point for learning to design, build, and maintain systems on cloud infrastructure. No prior experience needed. Start here and master the cloud on your own terms.
WHY CLOUD ENGINEERING?
Cloud computing changed how we deploy software. Instead of buying servers and waiting weeks, you spin up instances in minutes. Instead of planning for peak traffic, you scale automatically. The cloud enables startups to compete with enterprises and small teams to build globally distributed systems. But the cloud isn't magic—it's just someone else's servers. Understanding the fundamentals makes you effective in any cloud environment.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
Highly available web applications that span multiple regions. Auto-scaling infrastructure that handles traffic spikes. Container orchestration with Kubernetes. Serverless functions for event-driven processing. Provision resources with code (Terraform, CloudFormation), manage containers (EKS, GKE), and design systems that survive data center failures. Be skeptical of managed services—the cloud abstracts hardware, not knowledge.
